Bridal Trends for 2017

11.08.2016

With the pending release of One Day Bridal’s luxury diffusion label, Chosen, the team is looking forward to bridal trends and what hot for Spring/Summer 2017.

Luxe Textures

The upcoming bridal season is all about rich, luxe textures. Lush silks, deep velvet and a splash of sequins are what we want to see.

If it feels good, it’s going to be a winner.

Pleating

Quite a large trend for Fall/Winter this year the pleating phase is still going and we love this look translated into bridal.

Although more fashion inspired a pleated gown can be bought back to bridal through the use of soft chiffons and structure. We loved the custom designed gown created by Founder and Creative Director of One Day, Kyha, for bride Laura earlier this year. Layers of pleated blue organza made this gown something spectacular.

Simplicity

At One Day we are all about less is more and we love a simple, yet striking look for your wedding day. Take our Moss gown or Sadie. Simple looks with curious design elements. This look can be dressed up or is perfect for a small intimate wedding with no fuss.

Metallics

A particular favourite at One Day Bridal this season. The use of metallic through subtle details and accessorizing or a prominent statement is all right by us.

Moving away from white

With the release of our last collection ‘Blessed are the Curious’ our Nala gown took the bridal world by storm. Who would have though such an untraditional gown would sweep brides around the world off their feet? So why stop there, this summer we are going to see a shift from the traditional white wedding gown and a move towards beautiful blush tones and statement golds.
