The Making of a Bespoke Wedding Dress: The Process
Creating a Bespoke One Day Gown is an exciting and in depth process. From the shape of the gown, to the fabric and finishing details, the One Day team of designers and dressmakers thrive on creating these one of a kind gowns.
Our latest Bespoke creation was my wedding dress. A statement gown made from custom designed floral inspired beading with pink and gold tones.
In order to create my incredible wedding gown, I had a number of important fittings, each fitting an important step in the process of ensuring an inspiring design is executed perfectly. Over the construction process in the six months leading up the wedding our team of dress makers work towards to ensuring the gown fits like glove and finished to the highest quality.
I was lucky enough to have one of my final fittings captured by photographer Olivia and Thyme.
The process of having a Bespoke Gown made is such an incredible journey in itself. I wanted to look back on this fitting after the wedding and to be able to show my Fiance and share with brides-to-be, as the process is just as important as the day itself.
During this fitting the gown was in its most complete stage so far. The lace had been attached, and everything was ready to finish. The importance of this fitting was marking the hem, and ensuring everything looked perfect. There were some final adjustments, some more lace pinned and the sleeve and neckline double checked.
At this stage I had my shoes ready, and we talked about accessories and the veil.
I am so excited to be able to share this moment with everyone. Having a wedding dress designed by my sister is something pretty special, and to have such an amazing team working on the dress made it all the more memorable.
The dress was everything I could have ever hoped for. As I write this it is four days until the wedding and anxious with excitement and anticipation!
