EMMA + JARRED

WHEN AND HOW WE MET

We met in Bundaberg, QLD 7 years ago! We were both playing in the same touch football team but had never met previously. When we got back from Bundaberg, I pursued Jarred and eventually he gave in and we went out on our first date. As they say, the rest is history.

OUR WEDDING LOCATION

It took us nearly 12 months to find the perfect venue. We live in Sydney but majority of our family live in Brisbane so we both agreed that Byron Bay would be an amazing option. We both wanted a venue that was a blank canvas and gave off a very relaxing vibe. From the moment we arrived at the venue it was love at first site and then we met Jo (the property owner) and everything fell into the place. The property is located in the Byron Bay hinterland and set on 100 acre cattle farm. The property boasts perfectly manicured lawns and stunning gardens which surround a large lake with a gorgeous little row boat and old wooden jetty all built and maintained by Jo and her husband. We just felt totally at home and comfortable with Jo and she truly loves what she does!

THE DRESS

I had fallen in love with One Day Bridal even before we were engaged. So from the moment I got engaged, I knew that I wanted a One Day dress! During my first consultation I tried on several different styles until I finally found the style that best suited me, it was the ONE. I worked with ODB ladies and found the perfect lace to create a custom gown. From the moment I walked into ODB I felt incredibly relaxed and at ease, the team were amazing and I was absolutely thrilled with my result. It was above and beyond my wildest dreams!

THE WEDDING PARTY

I had 3 bridesmaids, my 3 best friends! I wanted to find a dress for the girls that they could wear again – nothing too ‘bridesmaidy’. My first stop was Zimmermann and I found the perfect white knee lengths dresses that were simple and elegant.

HEN’S DAY

My hen’s was a weekend in Noosa spent with my closest 11 friends and family. We stayed in a beautiful villa and spent the weekend relaxing by the pool and at the beach and drinking cocktails. My beautiful bridesmaid created the most amazing table platter that was stunning. Saturday night we went out for a beautiful dinner at Rococo followed by cocktails and a night out.

YOUR ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES

Take a moment to sit with your husband and reflect on the day, you will be surprised how little time you actually get to spend alone on your wedding day. It is important that as a bride and groom you both stay true to what is most important to you both and don’t shape the day around what makes everyone else happy!
